CHEF DE PARTIE

We are looking for another fantastic member to join our dynamic kitchen team to help us continue our journey.

 

At present, we have a close team of three including both business owners Sebastian & Theo along with our CDP Callum. Previous experience is preferred but we are very open to taking someone on board with little to none experience and would be prepared to provide on the job training. The most important qualities we are looking for are someone to join the team who has a passion for food (especially burgers!), willingness to learn and good attention to detail.

This is a full-time position with an opportunity to work at one of the best restaurants in the local area, where we only work with fresh ingredients sourced daily. Working patterns would include 10 hour shifts at one time as well as weekend work amounting to 48 hours a week with three and a-half days off. However, if you are currently studying, we are willing to be flexible. 

 

The location:

Bourton-On-The-Water, set in one of the most beautiful parts of Gloucestershire and lies on a wide flat vale within the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Smiths is set in a fantastic Grade II listed building, dating back hundreds of years with amazing charm and character. Our next project is renovating the secluded, high wall garden.

BAR STAFF/MIXOLOGIST POSITION

Are you a creative person with a passion for mixology?

 

In this position, you will work closely alongside bar manager Robin (ex bar manager at Thyme England & Daylesford) who has over 10 years experience. It will provide an opportunity to learn how to make exciting, bespoke cocktails with unique ingredients. We are looking for a new member to join our small, but vibrant bar team. A big part of this role will require someone who has a desire to understand and learn more about the technique of cocktail making. Our bar team would be completed by an individual who is enthusiastic, truly cocktail crazy and keen to gain or hone expertise in a wide variety of drink making and syrup making, alcohol infusing techniques with the occasional opportunity of foraging herbs from local allotments!

Experience & junior bar staff equally welcome: successful applicants will be diligent, passionate, kind and committed to doing their best work with a drive to continue learning or sharing their skills.

Working week would consist of 45 hours per week with the occasional (quieter) shift off where appropriate. Due to Smiths having huge potential to be a thriving destination there will require some flexibility on the above, but work life-balance is paramount to us.

FRONT OF HOUSE MEMBER

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable person to join our front of house team. No experience is required, as we will provide on the job training. This role is ideal for students looking for flexible working and some extra money!

Hours are flexible (the more hours you request to work, the more we will give you) and salary is dependent on experience.

The ideal candidate will have:

FRONT OF HOUSE SUPERVISOR

We have an immediate requirement for a Front of House Supervisor. This is an amazing opportunity for someone to come in and work with a small tight knit team with a strong culture. Our team size currently sits at 10 people, but we are keen to grow this due to created success.

A big part of this role will be in collaboration with Owner, Sebastian Smith & General Manager Robin Stransky who between them have 10 years experience within the industry. We see it extremely important that the successful applicant has demonstrated experience in managing teams regardless of size with tangible outcomes. The role will be extremely hands on and will require you to always communicate concisely, as well as being exceptionally organised, with strong attention to detail to ensure service and quality standards are always met.

This is a full-time position, working 45 hours per week as well as weekend work. Salary is between 22-25K.
